Two in 'Filthy' Lilburn Home Charged With Cruelty to Children

A couple was charged after two children were removed from a "filthy and flea-ridden" Lilburn house.

Lilburn police arrested a man and woman, charging them with cruelty to children because of the filthy condition of the house where they lived with the woman's two children, wsbtv.com reported. Two children were removed from the house.

There was broken glass and spoiled and rotten food on the floors, Lilburn Police Capt. Ben Haynes said. The septic tank was full and backing up into the house, and there was no running water. The house was "filthy and flea-ridden," according to the report.

The landlord of the house on Wynne Russell Drive reported the couple to the police on Saturday, saying he was concerned for the children and fed up with the conditions he saw.

Sky Alexandra Mitch and Stephen Robert Hunt were booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, county records show.

I saw this house before they moved in, it was just painted and cleaned up, new vanites & plumbing fixtures, I have heard this house is a big mess, since they are now gone and will take thousands to fix back up, the real problem is the children, I hope, Gwinnett County DFACS will put them in a good foster home, I think any one could do better than was they had.
