Weather Causes Limited Damage in Gwinnett

Gwinnett Fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said firefighters were busy, but a majority of the calls were "unfounded or considered good intent calls only."

The storms that hit the area Saturday made for another busy night for Gwinnett Fire and Rescue personnel.

“Incidents were able to be quickly mitigated by responding personnel,” Rutledge said in a press release.

There were no significant reports of damage in the Lilburn area.

Trees down on houses/structures

3200 block of Cardinal Lake Drive, Duluth. Tree found on house and vehicle. No injuries.

100 block of Timber Oak Cove, Lawrenceville. Tree on house. No injuries reported.

2300 block of His Way, Lawrenceville. Tree on a house. No injuries reported.

House fires

2500 block of Cobble Creek Lane, Grayson. Rutledge said this was the most significant of the reported fires. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the roof of a two-story home. No one was injured. The attic and second level of the house received damage. Cause of the fire was believed to be lightning.

1600 block of Norton Estates Circle. Snellville.  Lightning caused minor damage to the back of the house.

Tree down in roadway

3900 block of South Bogan Road, Buford. Two trees across the roadway.

East Shadburn Ferry Road, Buford.Two trees across the roadway.

South Berkeley Lake Road in Duluth. Tree down partially blocking roadway.

Highpoint Road near Highway 78 in Snellville. Tree down in the roadway.
