Update: Teen Injured After Falling Near Yellow River

A teenager was injured after falling from a tree near the Yellow River in the Lilburn area Monday (July 29).

The incident occurred near Stone Mountain Highway and Jessica Daron Court around 2:05 p.m., according to a news release from Lt. Colin S. Rhoden of the Gwinnett County Fire Department. Firefighters quickly got to the scene and to the teen.

It took a few hours to gain access to her and bring the victim to safety, Rhoden continued. The terrain was steep, and the Gwinnett County Fire Swift Water Team had to assist because of the moving water.

Crews brought the teen to safety and released the patient to an adult family member. No other injuries were reported.
