Woman: Husband Set Garage on Fire, Stayed Inside

Inside the Police Blotter: Firefighters were able to bring the man outside and transport him to the hospital.

A woman called authorities earlier this month to report that her husband had set their garage on fire and remained inside.

According to the Lilburn Police report, the incident occurred around 1:42 p.m. on the 700 block of Stacey Court, near Burns Road. Numerous fire department trucks arrived on the scene to rescue the man and battle the flames in the garage and, which also had a vehicle inside.

The husband was brought out of the garage on a stretcher and was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.

Dispatch advised that the incident could have been a suicide attempt. The Lilburn report has this fire listed as an arson in the first degree.
