A woman pedestrian was reportedly struck and killed by a county vehicle Monday just before noon.
Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the woman was struck around 11:49 a.m. at the intersection of Langley Drive and Constitution Boulevard in Lawrenceville. That is in the area of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center.
“On arrival, crews found an adult female victim on the ground unconscious and unresponsive from her injuries,” Rutledge said in a media alert. “Emergency personnel initiated advanced life support measures and rapidly transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.”
Lawrenceville Police said Rama Sriram of Tucker died from injuries after she was hit by a Gwinnett County government van as she crossed the intersection. The AJC reported the driver of the van, a county employee, stopped at the scene. He was interviewed and released.
