Women Leave 10 Children Alone, But Lilburn Police Quick on Their Heels

Lilburn police are accusing two women of leaving 10 children home alone, while they made a trip to U-Haul, according to a WSB-TV report.

The women -- Melissa Brown of Lilburn, and Tusharia McKoy of Lawrenceville -- were promptly arrested and charged with second-degree child cruelty, according to jail records.

Both have bonded out of jail.

Police were first alerted to the situation when a concerned citizen went to the Arrowind Road home to pick something up, heard the children crying inside and called 911, WSB-TV reported.

When police arrive they found the children huddled on a bed alone in what appeared to be an illegal daycare, the report said.

According to Bright from the Start records, no daycare operated by Brown nor one operated by McKoy is listed.
