Bring Christmas Trees for Recycling This Month

As part of the "Bring One for the Chipper" program Lilburn residents can drop off trees at local fire stations, and the city's maintenance shop.

Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is asking you to bring your old tannenbaums to their annual "Bring One for the Chipper" tree recycling campaign.

From Dec. 26, 2012 until Jan. 18, 2013, Gwinnett County residents can take their undecorated Christmas trees to one of several locations for recycling. In Lilburn, they are:

  • Fire Station 2, 12 Harmony Grove Road
  • Fire Station 3, 4394 Five Forks Trickum Road
  • Fire Station 22, 2180 Stone Drive

Click here for other locations across Gwinnett County.

On Jan. 26th the collected trees will be taken to Bethesda Park in Lawrenceville, where they will be shredded. Much of the mulch will then be used to help keep Gwinnett County Parks beautiful.

In addition, city of Lilburn residents can bring their trees to the City of Lilburn Maintenance Shop, located at 107 Railroad Avenue. Residents may bring trees here until Jan. 31.

City workers will then covert those trees into mulch for use by city residents. Contact City Hall to schedule delivery or pickup of mulch at 770-921-2210.
