City to Redesign Website to be More User-Friendly

Lilburn City Council is expected to discuss -- and likely approve -- a company to redesign the city's website.

The city of Lilburn is looking at redesigning its website, moving it from a hard-to-navigate platform to something more user-friendly.

According to Nikki Young, Lilburn public relations manager, 12 companies were among the initial crop of web designers considered. At the Feb. 11 council meeting, the city hopes to approve a contract, she said.

The amount of the contract has not yet been disclosed.

It has limited capabilities for content management and design flexibility," Young said. "We want to redesign the site in a way that is more user-friendly and makes it easier for our citizens to find information and conduct business online.

"It’s all about improving people’s access to their local government."

The city's website was last redesigned in 2005.

At a recent council work session, city council members approved of a change, though there was some discussion on the design itself.
