County Approves Lilburn Road Improvements

Miller Road will be improved, and the county approved the city's agreement with the Lilburn Community Improvement District to realign Main Street.

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved two Lilburn road improvement projects this week.

Miller Road will get a new curb, gutter and sidewalks between Cole Drive and Hambrick Drive, the Department of Transportation said in an email.

"This work completes a key safety project we promised as part of the SPLOST sales tax program," District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard said in the statement. "Ad it's a much-needed improvement to the important pedestrian route to the three schools in the Parkview complex on Cole Drive."

The board also approved the to share funding for the realignment of Main Street from Lawrenceville Highway to the new city hall and library that's planned.

The county will be in charge of construction, and the city will provide the land and engineering.
