District 3 Commissioner Beaudreau Requests Election Recount
The Gwinnett County commissioner for District 3 is trailing Tommy Hunter by 56 votes.
Current Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau is seeking a recount following a close runoff election earlier this month. Gwinnett County's Communication Director Joe Sorenson has confirmed this news in an email to Patch.
The Gwinnett County Republican Party first announced on their Facebook page Monday that Beaudreau is requesting the recount. Beaudreau currently in last Tuesday's runoff election by just 56 votes.
The Gwinnett GOP says the recount will begin 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Elections Headquarters in Lawrenceville. Sorenson expects the recount to be completed by the early evening.
