How Did Your Precinct Vote in 2008?

In the last presidential election, Lilburn overwhelming went for the Republican candidate, Sen. John McCain. That's not surprising considering that Gwinnett County went for McCain, as well.

But, that win for McCain, was not a landslide -- 54.56 percent of voters went for McCain and 44.35 percent for then-Sen. Barack Obama, according to unofficial voting results from Gwinnett County.

Who Voted for Obama?

In Lilburn, five precincts went for Obama, who would eventually become president. Those were:

• Precinct 11, First Baptist Church of Lilburn, with 59.14 percent for Obama
• Precinct 34, Lilburn Christian Church, with 50.76 percent
• Precinct 65, Calvary Baptist Church, with 59.50 percent
• Precinct 103, Berkmar United Methodist Church, with 61.60 percent
• Precinct 120, The Pilgrimage Annex at Providence Christian Academy, with 49.54 percent
  

Where Were the Most Republican Votes?

The Mountain Park area had the most votes for McCain in 2008. Precinct 14, which votes at Mountain Park Depot on Five Forks Trickum Road, had 69.47 percent of votes go to McCain. That's compared to only 29 percent for Obama.

What Were the Closest Races?

Precinct, 120, which votes at The Pilgrimage Annex at Providence Christian Academy, had the closest race between Republicans and Democrats, with a 1.06 percentage point difference. The final tally went to Obama.

Precinct 34, which votes at Lilburn Christian Church, was also close, with a difference of 2.48 percentage points. The final tally went to Obama.
