Last Chance: Homestead Exemption, Home School Prom

The deadline to apply for the exemption is April 1, the same day property tax returns are due. Today is the deadline to sign up for the countywide prom for home-schooled high schoolers.

 

The deadline to apply for the homestead exemption is fast approaching. Applications must be sent in by April 1, the same day property tax returns are due.

To get a homestead exemption, you must own the house and it must be your legal residence. To get an exemption for the current tax year, you must have owned the home on Jan. 1 of the tax year.

Today, March 26, is the deadline to get tickets for the “Enchanted Evening Home School Prom” for all Gwinnett County home-school students in grades 9-12. It's hosted by the county parks department and will be held at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 for a couple. Click on the link to register.
