Lilburn City Council Meets Tonight

Meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall

Tonight’s city council meeting includes a public hearing on the adoption of a zoning resolution that aims to simplify the development process, make the code more “user-friendly” with clearer language, and implement the city’s Comprehensive Plan. Here’s what else is on tonight’s packed agenda:

-       A special commendation for Doug Bryson.

New business:

-       Public hearing on the adoption of a new zoning resolution and an official zoning map.

-       Approval of an amended agreement with the Gwinnett County Community Development Block Grant Program to move the termination date to Dec. 31 from June 30 for the improvement project on Hillcrest Road sidewalks and authorization for the mayor to execute the agreement.

-       Approval of Main Street realignment construction agreement.

-       Approval of conservation easements for the City Park Camp Creek restoration project.

-       Approval of an agreement with the county to upgrade mast arm signal poles, add turn lanes and other improvements at the Killian Hill and Arcado Road intersection.

-       Approval to amend the budget by $52,914.37 for SPLOST administration for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

-       Appointment of Kaleigh Frederick as absentee ballot clerk for the Nov. 8 general election.

 The work session begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes the above new business items, plus an update to the council on the city hall/library.
