Lilburn Partners with Homeless Pet Clubs

The city of Lilburn is working to help homeless pets find forever homes.

The city of Lilburn is one of the newest partners of Homeless Pet Clubs of America, an Atlanta-based organization that helps students, civic leaders and business partners promote animal welfare.

The city joined in March "in effort to create awareness and help reduce the number of homeless pets in the Gwinnett area," according to the city's newsletter. It will be working with the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter.

As a business club, the city of Lilburn will sponsor a shelter animal for free, and then use social media and word of mouth to find a home for the animal. Currently, the city is sponsoring a miniature pinscher named "Ceba," according to the city newsletter.

As with other sponsored animals, the shelter pledges to keep the animal until a permanent home is found.
