Lilburn Reaches Interim Service-Delivery Agreement With County

The agreement is temporary, but is expected to bring in $372K for police and other public services.

Before the Lilburn City Council handled the mosque-expansion issue Tuesday night in a special called meeting, it approved another significant agenda item.

The Council passed by a 4-0 vote an interim service-delivery agreement with Gwinnett County that would bring $372,136 to the city.

In the agreement, Lilburn will continue to provide services inside the city limits such as police, road maintenance, elections, municipal court and water and sewer.

The county Board of Commissioners also approved the agreement in its Tuesday meeting held earlier in the day.

City Manager Bill Johnsa stressed that the agreement is temporary and is dependent on the county reaching a service-delivery agreement with Gwinnett’s 14 other cities, which has been in dispute since last year.
