Lilburn Woman's Club Recognized for Outstanding Contributions by House of Representatives

Representative B.J. Pak presented Resolution 604 to Lilburn Woman's Club.

The GFWC Lilburn Woman’s Club held its monthly meeting this week at the Lilburn City Hall auditorium, where club members welcomed Georgia House Representative B.J. Pak as one of their guest speakers.

Representative Pak presented Resolution 604 to LWC President Gail Zarnik along with Public Issues Co-Chairs Pat Swan and Lori Harrison.   The resolution recognizes and commends the Lilburn Woman’s Club for its numerous and outstanding contributions to the citizens of the state of Georgia.

The theme for this month’s meeting expounded on the GFWC motto of “Unity in Diversity” and several club members, including Sandra Pak, participated in a brief cultural exchange presentation led by Christine Peredney. Flags from around the world hung on the walls as participants, dressed in native garb, spoke about their sometimes-mixed heritages and brought items that were native to their ancestral countries.

Pak commented on to how appropriate it was that he was able to present during the evening hosted by the International Outreach Program because his vision of America is similar to that of a large tapestry, with diverse individuals serving as threads where we are all interwoven to create a colorful but solid country.

He also pointed out that he and the other representatives who co-signed this resolution view the Lilburn Woman’s Club contributions as a great example of the far-reaching threads that strengthen the tapestry of America and of the world.
