Mayor Updates LBA on Area Projects

Diana Preston was featured speaker at Lilburn Business Association's monthly breakfast meeting

Armed with a slew of planning maps, Lilburn Mayor Diana Preston told area business people to get ready for some change in the area.

Speaking at Friday morning’s Lilburn Business Association’s monthly Business Builder’s Breakfast at , Preston updated attendees on many of the various projects planned to rejuvenate Greater Lilburn.

In a 20-minute talk, Preston quickly briefed the group on the Main Street alignment project, which will update the entrance to the city’s downtown areas; Bryson Park, the county-run multi-use park that is currently under construction off Lawrenceville Highway;  the planned construction of the new city hall/library complex, a city-county effort that could be completed in the next two years; and efforts by the Lilburn Community Improvement District and its Highway 29 Corridor Study, which aims to make the highway and live/work/play destination.

That wasn’t all. She also included news on a $1 million stream restoration project by the county to redo the section of Camp Creek which borders Lilburn City Park, area road projects, including Highway 29 and Arcado/Killian Hill roads, and a AA bond rating by Moody's Investors Service, “which is good, were told, because we’ve never borrowed money before.”

 “Lilburn’s on the move,” Preston told the business group. “We’re ready to work with you.”
