Proposed Budget Up for Public Input

Lilburn City Council will hear public feedback to 2011-12 budget at Monday meeting.

Lilburn’s City Council has scheduled a public hearing as part of its regular monthly meeting Monday to discuss its proposed budget for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

Residents are invited to voice their opinion on the $5.9 million budget proposal, which also is posted on the city’s website. A pdf copy of the budget summary is attached to this article.

Included in the proposal are changes to the city’s occupational and alcohol sales taxes for businesses, and a new $10-per-month charge for trash removal and yard-debris chipper service for city residences. .

The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday in the city hall auditorium.

A finalized budget is scheduled to be adopted at the June City Council meeting on June 13.
