Qualifying Period Set for November Election

Two council posts are open for Lilburn's November election.

The qualifying period for Lilburn's upcoming election is set for Aug. 26-30.

During that time, candidates may bring their completed qualifying application to Lilburn City Hall, beginning 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 and closing 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 30.

Two posts are up for election: Post 3, currently held by Eddie Price, Post 4 currently held by Tim Dunn.

In order to run, candidates must:

  • Live inside the city limits for at least one year as of the first Tuesday of November of the year for which he or she is qualifying
  • Be a registered voter
  • Pay the qualifying fee of $105.00 (for a council seat)

The municipal election will be Tuesday, Nov. 5. Those elected will serve four-year terms.
