With George Castanza and Jon Bon Jovi Already in, Can Snoop Dogg, Porn Stars and Snooki Be Far Behind?

A stable of celebrities stumps for Mitt Romney and President Obama, while fallen stars stub their toes on candidates who got the boot. Could Election 2012 make swing state Iowa the entertainment capital of the world?

Last week, Jon Bon Jovi did the Iowa circuit as part of the 2012 presidential election, stumping and strumming for President Obama. Sunday, it was Alfre Woodard in Iowa, making her the second Desperate Housewives star -- Eva Longoria is the other -- to come out for the president. Springsteen is coming.

Two weeks ago, George Castanza, aka Jason Alexander, was in the state. Oprah Winfrey has been way out there for Obama, although not in Iowa.

And Mitt Romney and President Obama, of course, are becoming Iowa regulars.

Could Election 2012 make Iowa the epicenter of all that is famous?

Not likely.

But keep an eye out. Iowa’s six electoral votes and its status as a swing state is making it a destination stop for the presidential campaigns and their surrogates, and we can only imagine who might show up next.

We know who probably won't be here: Pat Boone put all his sugary marbles with Rick Santorum, and Chuck Norris was fighting for Newt Gingrich. And Snooki -- aka Nicole Polizzi of Jersey Shore fame -- endorsed Donald Trump, apparently unaware that he wasn’t running.

Still, the possibilities abound, some for real and some just for just fun. Consider what stars like to shine their lights on various candidates:

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER: Joined George W. Bush on the campaign trail to pump up the audiences. The Ah-Nulds muscle, of course, helped Bush to two victories.

MARK HAMILL: A Star Wars star, he was recently quoted as saying, “If you don’t vote for Barack Obama, you are insane. Romney, I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but I think he’s like The Thing -- he only imitates human behavior.”

GENE SIMMONS: Probably not going to preach morals to anybody soon. Does his sucking up to Romney help, or could it be the Kiss of death?

JENNA JAMESON: Porn star. A couple of reasons Romney may wish she wouldn’t be endorsing him: Her credentials include being inducted into both the X-Rated Critics Organization and the Adult Video News halls of fame, and, her reason for wanting Romney? “When you’re rich, you want a Republican in office.”

SNOOP DOGG: In speaking out for Obama, he explained why the turn-around of the country has been such a challenge. “You all gave him a house where the TV didn’t work,” he said, “and the toilet was stuffed up.”

Compliments of The Hill, here are more presidential and party endorsements:

Backing the GOP, though not all have come out in favor of Romney: Stephen Baldwin, Pat Boone, Dead Cain, Russell Crowe, Clint Eastwood, Ben Stein, Vince Vaughn, Barry Manilow.

Backing Obama: George Clooney, Ari Emanuel, Will Ferrell, Jamie Fox, Morgan Freeman, Lady Gaga, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Gwyneth Paltrow, Steven Spielberg, Oprah.
