A new task force is taking aim at what the group describes as “wasteful federal laws.”
Rep. Rob Woodall (R-Lawrenceville), who represents Georgia District 7, which includes Lilburn, is a member of the newly launched Repeal Task Force. The group is comprised of conservative members of Congress.
The members of the group have agreed to introduce bills or offer amendments to repeal targeted laws.

According to a press release, Woodall has introduced several bills -- including the FairTax, a bill designed to eliminate the income tax and replace it with a revenue-neutral tax on all goods and services -- that are designed to repeal harmful laws . Woodall has also introduced a bill to repeal the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) as well as a bill to repeal the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
