Berkmar Grads Step Into Their Future

Graduating seniors from Berkmar High School receive their diplomas on Saturday.

Cheers rose from the crowd as close to 550 seniors from Berkmar High School received their diplomas at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth on Saturday.

Featured speakers for the 2011 commencement exercises included Ken Johnson, principal of Berkmar High School; Dr. Steve Flynt, associate superintendent of Gwinnett County schools; Louise Radloff, Berkmar's Board of Education cluster representative; salutatorian Dina Hassan and valedictorian Destiny Cobb.

The graduating class of 2011 in Gwinnett County has received more than $108 million in scholarship money for continuing education.
