Berkmar to Hold Info Meeting on Free Tutoring Sessions

Some students qualify for free tutoring after Berkmar failed to make adequate yearly progress.

Berkmar High School will hold an information session for parents on free tutoring services on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Students at the high school who qualify for free or reduced-price meals are eligible for the free tutoring, Gwinnett County Public Schools said in an email.

The school is required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act to offer the tutoring services after failing to make adequate yearly progress in previous years. Last year, Berkmar fell short of AYP in graduation rates and in English/Language Arts for Hispanics and economically disadvantaged students.
