UPDATE: Busy Weekend in Lilburn: Easter Bunny, Fun Run and Arts Showcase

The Lilburn Downtown Development Authority is sponsoring the annual Easter egg hunt, which is one of several activities this weekend in Lilburn.

Updated March 22, 5:56 p.m.: The Lilburn Arts Alliance event location has changed to city hall, 76 Main Street.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter bunny hops into Lilburn City Park this weekend, where children will hunt for colorful eggs scattered about the grounds.

The festivities begin take place 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., with the Easter egg hunt starting at 11 a.m.,

Children ages 12 and younger are welcome. Parents are not allowed on the field unless escorting a child 3 years old or younger.

Despite Saturday forecasts calling for rain -- 60 percent during the day and 90 percent during the evening, according to the National Weather Service -- organizers have said that the Easter fun will go on.

Parkview Christian School Trail Trot

The school in Lilburn is having a "trail trot" this Saturday, as part of its 20th anniversary celebration.

The event begins at 8 a.m. at Camp Creek Greenway Trail. The first race starts at 8:30 a.m.

The main race is about 2.75 miles; there is a shorter race for children.

Arts Alliance March Showcase

The Lilburn Arts Alliance will host its March showcase this Saturday.

The event takes place 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. at 76 Main Street.

The normal location 107 Main Street is being renovated, and city officials announced Friday that it would not be available for the March art event.

Featured artists include: Liz Borkhuis, Joan Clipp, Mikki Root Dillon, Linda Hull, Stephanie Stanley, Jan Stittleburg, and Catherine Susky.

Wine and appetizers will be provided by Sprig Restaurant. Music on Main Street will provide entertainment. In addition, there will be a special appearance by local vocalist Armando Rey.
