Providence Christian and Parkview both averted being swept from the baseball playoffs Monday by forcing the final games of their best-of-three series.

After being shut down in an 8-1 loss to Treutlen in the first game of the Class A series in Lilburn, Providence beat the Vikings 10-0 in the second game to split the doubleheader. The Stars will play for a spot in the state finals in a 2 p.m. game today at PCA.

Parkview, held to three hits in a 3-0 Game 1 loss at Colquitt County, came back in the second game with an 8-4 win to force the deciding third game in their Class AAAAA series. Game 3 is scheduled today at 1 p.m. in Moultrie.
