Georgia Department of Education Sets Courses for New Career Pathways

The Georgia Department of Education has finalized the required courses for the new career pathways model.

Now, the state's high schoolers can see what courses go with the individual career pathway that they choose. The pathway is based on what the students would like to do after graduation.

Students will take core courses coupled with electives based on their chosen field. The aligned courses are a part of a law passed by the Georgia General Assembly in 2011.

The new system becomes effective this fall for the 2013-2014 school year. For more information, including what the core courses are, click here.
