Meadowcreek Students Place in Culinary Competition

Two students in the Norcross school's culinary arts program received the gold and silver medals in the NAACP High School Culinary Competition.

Two Meadowcreek High students recently placed in the NAACP High School
Culinary Competition earlier this month.

Senior Victoria Martinez received a gold medal for her Asian-inspired dishes, and Elias Gomez, also a senior, received a silver medal for his rustic Italian cuisine.

Both students were required to do a five-minute presentation on their culinary background and on what inspired their dishes.

Martinez will compete in July at the national level in Orlando, Fla.

Also, the students and culinary arts teacher Simone Byrone will be honored for their achievements at the July 18th board meeting for Gwinnett County Public Schools.
