Providence Christian Honors Late Soccer Coaches

Providence names soccer field after John Spracklin and Jonny Williamson.

Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn honored two beloved soccer coaches who have passed away by naming the school's field in their honor.

The school honored John Spracklin and Jonny Williamson, both of whom won state championships, at a ceremony Friday night between the boys and girls soccer games.

“Each of these men were excellent coaches, but they were also inspiring leaders to their players on the field and their students in the classroom,” said Dr. Jim Vaught, Head of School at Providence Christian Academy. “Renaming our soccer field is a fitting way to pay tribute to their service to our students and to the Lord.”

Spracklin, who passed away six years ago, led Providence to a state title in 1999, the school's first championship.

Williamson, a Providence graduate in 1997, led Providence to a state soccer in 2007. He passed away from cancer four years ago.
