Rained shortened the first day of the Class A baseball semifinals at Providence Christian Academy Monday in Lilburn.

Providence won the opener 11-5, but the second game of a double-header was postponed by thunderstorms that roared through the area late in the afternoon.

The game was tied 0-0 at the end of the second inning when the rains came.

Austin Golden knocked in four runs to lead the Stars who turned a close game to a one-side game with four late runs.

The series picks back up at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
