Track & Field: Double-Winner Has Parkview Girls in Second Place

Indiah Bell won the long jump and triple jump on Monday at Gwinnett County meet.

Indiah Bell won two events and Parkview’s varsity girls were in second place after the first day of the rain-delayed Gwinnett County track and field meet Monday at Mill Creek High School.

Bell, a Parkview senior, won the long jump (17 feet, 3 ½ inches) and the triple jump (36-6 ½) as Parkview scored 40 team points. Collins Hill was in first place with 44.5 points. Providence Christian's girls were 14th with one point.

In the boys team standings, Parkview was seventh and Berkmar 11th.

The meet, which was scheduled to start Saturday, was rained out over the weekend. The finals are scheduled Thursday, also at Mill Creek, with the remaining finals in running events.

Other top 10 Lilburn finishers from Monday:

Parkview girls: Alexis Jones-Hardy, second, long jump (16-7 ¼); Rebecca Shane, third, high jump (4-10); Alexandria Mitchell, sixth, triple jump (33-8 ½) and ninth, high jump (4-10, tiebreaker based on misses); Sequoyah Benton, sixth, pole vault (7-6); Delia Hines, eighth, pole vault (7-0); Janet Detweiler, ninth, 1,600 meters (5:35.21).

Providence Christian girls: Taylor Tuttle, eighth, 1,600 meters (5:28.7).

No Berkmar girls finished in the top 10.

Parkview boys: Steven Spevacek, third, 1,600 meters (4:23.72); Elliot Abraham, fourth, high jump (6-2); Win Reid, sixth, long jump (20-5 ½) and ninth, triple jump (41- ½); Tre Thomas, seventh, discus (127-4); Barron Walston, eighth, shot put (44- ½); Alec Klassen, 10th, 1,600 meters (4:33.48); Colby Smith, 10th, shot put (43-9).

Berkmar boys: Kimani McCoy, second, shot put (48-5) and eighth, discus (126-10); Kristofer Sims, ninth, discus (125-7).

No Providence Christian boys finished in the top 10.
