Trickum Middle Academic Team Wins First Place at Competition

The academic team continues their winning streak.

On Saturday, March 18, Trickum Middle School's Academic Team earned first place at the Georgia Academic Team Association State Middle School Tournament.  A total of sixty teams competed in the tournament.  The competition was held at Westminster Day School.  

Winning team members were Captain Julie Wang, Jordan Rice, Keaton Law, Jason Fan and Brent Bessemer.  

The team has won six tournaments this year and qualified to compete at two national level competitions.  Coached by Linda LaPerre and Cary Sell, this is Trickum's fourteenth year fielding an academic team.  The team placed second earlier this month at the and first at the Haynes Bridge Eagle Challenge.

This team will be representing Lilburn, Gwinnett County, and Georgia at the NATIONAL Championships in Washington DC in June. This will mark the first time that a Trickum Academic Team has ever attended a national championship tournament.
