U.S. News Ranks Parkview, Berkmar Among Georgia's 'Best' High Schools

Nationally, Parkview High School ranked in the top 500.

U.S. News and World Report has released its annual rankings of the nation's best high schools, and both Parkview High and Berkmar High made the list.

According to the data released April 23, Parkview High and Berkmar High ranked No. 10 and No. 13, respectively, among schools in Georgia. Nationally, Parkview High ranked No. 489 and Berkmar High ranked No. 611.

Parkview High:

  • Awarded "gold" medal by U.S. News
  • One of four Gwinnett County schools ranked in the top 10 best schools in Georgia. Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology; Norcross; and Duluth are the other three schools.
  • AP participation is 55 percent.
  • 73 percent exceeded standards in the high school gradution test.
  • College readiness rated at 46.1 percent (percentage of students who took and passed AP tests).

Berkmar High:

  • Awarded "silver" medal by U.S. News.
  • AP participation is 65 percent.
  • 43 percent exceeded standards in the high school graduation test.
  • College readiness rated at 42.2 percent (percentage of students who took and passed AP tests).
