All-Out War for Parkview, Brookwood Rivals in This Friday's Game

Parkview has lost against Brookwood every year since 2008. Friday night, the two teams meet again, and recent Parkview wins could spell a game-changer.

Last year, Parkview lost the big game against Brookwood in the final 15 seconds of the game.

Just when it looked like the Panthers might pull a win, after a years-long losing streak against the Broncos, Nick Thompkins had to return a 75-yard kickoff.

So, Parkview lost 23-19.

The last time Parkview High School beat Brookwood High School (7-0 in 2008) was also the last season the Parkview Panthers had a winning record, 7-4.

On Friday, the two rivals meet again. The winner of the game will be considered to be the front-runner in Region 8-AAAAAA.

With Parkview coming off of a big win (22-7) on Sept. 14 against the 2011 state champions and nationally ranked Grayson High, will this mean an upset for Brookwood?

If Parkview wins its game against Brookwood, combined with its wins over Grayson and Archer, this year's 10th-ranked Panthers would steal bragging rights over three of the region’s four playoff teams from 2011.

Maybe they're doing something different over at Parkview this year? Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Big Orange Jungle.
