If Parkview (4-4, 4-2 in Region 8-AAAAA) wins in its final home game of the regular season, it will earn at least the region's fourth seed for the upcoming state playoffs, which begin on Nov. 11.
If Archer (4-4, 3-3) wins, it will climb into a tie for fourth place, and that playoff position will then be determined by the outcomes of games scheduled Nov. 4. With a win against Parkview, the Tigers can claim the playoff spot with a win next week, no matter what Parkview does.

If the two teams finish tied in the region standings at the end of the regular season, the winner of tonight's game would make the playoffs due to the head-to-head tiebreaker.
