Five Parkview Soccer Players Sign With Colleges

Four from the girls team will be playing for Georgia Perimeter College next year; Diego Casillas signed for North Georgia.

Five soccer players will be on college fields come soccer season next year.

Diego Casillas committed to North Georgia University, while Iris Gonzalez, Erin Baker, Stephanie Gutierrez and Alex Truitt on Monday signed to play for Georgia Perimeter.

Casillas has played on Parkview's varsity team since he was a freshman, Coach Michael Tolmich said, and he "played as strong" as the older guys. "He has worked and worked and worked. There are very few people that I've ever had the privilege of coaching who seem to love this game as much as he does."

The four young women have done an "incredible job" for Parkview over the past four years, Coach Judson Hamby said, adding they have "unbelievable character on and off the field, in their families, in the school, in the classroom, in everything they do. It's a huge testament for us to have these four young ladies up here."
