Georgia Football vs. Nebraska: It's a New Year Day's Bowl, Baby!

Will the Bulldogs start 2013 with a win?

The Georgia Bulldogs were scheduled to hit Orlando on Wednesday to begin prepping in earnest for their New Year's Day Capital One Bowl matchup against the Big Ten's Nebraska.

Coming off a heartbreaking SEC championship loss in which a few yards made the difference between playing for the national title and being passed over for a BCS berth, the Dawgs are looking to close out the 2012 season on a triumphant note.

Some analysts think that's likely.

"With the way that the Bulldogs left Atlanta, they are looking for redemption and there is not much that the Cornhuskers can do to stop it from being achieved," Ian Berg writes for Bleacher Report.

Nebraska was shucked by the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten title game, 70-31, leading Berg to write them off for New Year's Day. But coming off that embarrassment, the Cornhuskers will be on a redemption quest, too.

SB Nation Atlanta quotes Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez saying his team has to "treat this like the Rose Bowl game that we should have gone to, and I'm frustrated about that."

A game pitting two disappointed teams seeking a consolation prize always raises questions about which squad will be more motivated.

"So now it’s a battle of wills," Joey Johnston writes for NBC Sports. "Who wants this one more? It’s a joke that Georgia isn’t playing in a BCS bowl, but that’s the system. The Bulldogs have a 12-win season at stake – no joke there – and junior QB Aaron Murray wants to deliver that."

So what do the Bulldogs need to get a win? SB Nation Dawg Sports' T. Kyle King breaks it down. (One of King's surprising suggestions: "Don't win the turnover battle.")
