s Eighth Annual Jazz Festival is Saturday, April 21, in front of the school, from 5-9 p.m. Atlanta jazz great Joe Gransden and his quintet will headline the show. Other performers include The Large Principal Jazz Quartet featuring former Buddy Rich Big Band alto saxaphone player Dave D'Angelo. There's no admission charge, and there will be food and games.

is hosting a benefit concert on Sunday for Monte Garrett, a cancer patient, from 1-7 p.m. "Bring a picnic, flip off your flops and come celebrate a wonderful person with us! The preferred donation is $10," the shop says. There'll be fun activities for the kids, too.
