Lilburn's Lindsay Adams 6th at Top 60 Tournament

Former two-time high school champ finished six shots off the lead at tournament that draws the state's best players.

Lilburn resident Lindsay Adams, a former state high school champion, placed sixth this week in the Georgia State Golf Association's Georgia Top 60 Women's Classic held at The Brickyard at Riverside golf course in Macon.

Adams shot rounds of 72 and 75 (5-over-par 147) to finish tied for sixth with Margaret Shirley of Athens. Katie Burnett of Brunswick won the tournament after a playoff with Kendall Wright of Sugar Hill. Burnett and Wright both shot one-under 141 to force the playoff.

Adams, a 2010 graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross and currently a Kennesaw State golfer, won the state Class AA individual championship her junior and seniors years. She played on two GAC state-championship teams, and was the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's 2010 player of the year.

Second-flight winner Kimberly Graff, also of Lilburn, tied with Susan Rheney of Greensboro for ninth overall with a score of 152.
