Parkview Football Reaches State Rankings After Grayson Win

Panthers' 22-7 win over Grayson has Panthers in the top 10 this week.

It's been a while since Parkview High School football could claim to be a top-10 program.

Thanks to Friday's 22-7 win over Grayson, that all changed this week.

The Panthers (2-1) are No. 10 in Class AAAAA in the weekly rankings released Monday by the Georgia High School Football Daily and Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The loss also knocked previously top-ranked Grayson, also ranked No. 1 nationally by many media outlets, completely out of the top 10.

"Is that too harsh?" GHSFD's Todd Holcomb asked about Grayson's fall in his weekly "Poll Talk" blog on ajc.com.

Camden County is the new No. 1 in Class AAAAAA. Norcross, which beat Parkview 20-0 two weeks ago, moved up in the rankings from No. 9 to No. 3.
