Parkview High Baseball Sinks in National Rankings, But No. 3 in Region

The 2012 national champions have dropped to No. 23, according to one high school baseball tracker.

Parkview High School's baseball team is trailing behind the competition, according to national rankings and regional standings.

The team is ranked No. 23 nationally in Baseball America's recent top 25 ranking, which posted last week. It includes games up through April 7 and do not include ties. 

Earlier in the season, Baseball America ranked Parkview High No. 2, and in pre-season the team was ranked No. 1.

Georgia teams sailing past Parkview High in recent national rankings include: Loganville High School, ranked No. 8 and Gainesville High School, ranked No. 10.

These rankings, however, do not include Parkview High's recent wins:

  • 16-0 against Berkmar High School, April 11
  • 8-2 against Dacula High School, April 12
  • 7-1 against Brookwood High School, April 15
  • 8-1 against Archer High School, April 17

These wins will likely push Parkview High higher in national rankings. Here in Georgia, those wins place Parkview High School in the No. 3 in Region 8-AAAAAA behind Grayson High and South Gwinnett High, according to data compiled by ga.prepcountry.com.

Overall, the team is 15-6 in the state, and 10-2 in its region.
