Parkview Wins Big in Baseball, Girls Soccer

Parkview High advances to the state finals in soccer, semifinals in baseball.

It was a big night for sports Tuesday in Lilburn.

Parkview High School won its home matchups in both baseball and girls soccer to advance in the Georgia High School Association playoffs.

The baseball team swept Colquitt County 16-11 and 7-3 to reach the Class AAAAAA semifinals. The girls soccer team beat South Forsyth 2-1 to reach this weekend's Class AAAAAA championship game.

The baseball Panthers, who have won two consecutive state championships, advance to play Milton in the semifinals next week. Milton swept East Coweta, also Tuesday night.

That best-of-three series is scheduled to begin Monday, May 20 at Parkview.

In soccer, Parkview will play Harrison on Saturday at 5 p.m at Kennesaw State University. Harrison beat Brookwood in penalty kicks Tuesday.

The Panthers have won or shared seven state girls soccer championships, the last one in 2009.
