Parkview made big plays on defense, too, in last week's 41-3 win over Berkmar.

Keanu Mole, a junior defensive back, returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown in the key Region 8-AAAAA win.

Mole had had four tackles and a pass breakup.

Other top performers among area players last week:

Chris Carson, running back: Rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries.

Blake Dunham, offensive lineman: Had a high grade on his blocking assignments.

Larry Veal, tight end/wide receiver: One reception for 17 yards and had a high blocking grade.

Colby Smith, tight end: One reception for 11 yards and had a high blocking grade.

Bryce Lewis, defensive back: Had four tackles, three pass breakups and an interception.

Shaq Vereen: Had four tackles and two pass breakups.
