Parkview's defensive play has helped pave the way for the Panthers' four-game winning streak.

The Panthers have allowed 9.5 points per game in that span, which included last week's 22-15 win over high-scoring Central Gwinnett, which has score more than 40 points four times this season.

Junior defensive tackle Michael Sun was the standout in the Central Gwinnett win. He had 12 total tackles, three tackles for losses and two quarterback hurries.

Other top performers last week:

Chris Carson, running back: The junior, previously named a Patch player of the week, was virtually all the offense Parkview needed against Central Gwinnett. He scored all three touchdowns, as well as a two-point conversion, while rushing for 194 yards on 31 carries. He also had two pass receptions for 24 yards.

Colby Smith, tight end: The senior had a high grade on his blocking assignments.

Micah Finley, fullback: The junior had a high grade on his blocking assignments.

Hunter Thornton, defensive end: The junior had six total tackles, one tackle for loss, three quarterback hurries.

Sam Willis, defensive tackle: The junior had nine tackles and four quarterback hurries.

Rob Youngblood, defensive back: The junior had nine tackles and two pass breakups.

Bryce Lewis, defensive back: The sophomore had 11 total tackles and an interception.
