Viewfinder: Parkview's Carson and Flowe Too Much for Shiloh

With a heavy dose of smash-mouth football and some significant yardage from elusive running back Chris Carson, Parkview cruised to their 20th straight victory over Shiloh to move to 1-0 in the region.

With big plays from running back Chris Carson and a consistent strong defense led by Patrick Flowe, Kyle Williams and Rob Youngblood, the Parkview Panthers proved to be too much for the Shiloh Generals.

Coach Brian Montgomery and the Shiloh Generals marched into the Orange Jungle to face Cecil Flowe and the winless Parkview Panthers to begin region play.

There may have been a small chip on the shoulders of the Generals since they have not beaten Parkview in close to two decades. The Generals hoped to change that, led by their Vanderbilt commit, linebacker/defensive end standout Stephen Weatherly.

Shiloh started out strong with some key big plays on offense, but failed to score on their opening drive. Parkview had a good opening drive and coughed up the ball on the 1 yard line.

Shiloh took over at their own 1 yard line and drove 99 yards to get on the board 7 to 0.

The Parkview offense stalled early but got into full gear on their next possession when they got the ball on the Shiloh 26 yardline following a muffed 16 yard punt by the Shiloh punter.

A few plays later, Patrick Flowe scored on a short 5 yard run for the Panthers. Thanks to a botched snap on the extra point and quick thinking by Jack Esmonde who threw a pass to Larry Veal, the Panthers got the two point conversion and went up 8 to 7.

The Panthers scored again following an interception by Patrick Flowe and never looked back. With a heavy dose of smash-mouth football and some significant yardage from elusive running back Chris Carson, Parkview cruised to their 20th straight victory over Shiloh to move to 1-0 in the region.

The Parkview defense was lead by keys plays from senior Patrick Flowe and junior Kyle Williams. Parkview looks to move to 2 and 0 when they travel down highway 78 to face the South Gwinnett Comets next Friday.
