Featured Blog: Thor Johnson on Neighborhood Watch Groups

Neighborhood Watch program a most effective anti-crime strategy, inexpensive, big impact in deterring burglary and encourages people to take care of one another

Over the past few decades with the advent of air conditioning, television, computers, two working adult households etc., we have become "cave dwellers." That is, staying inside our homes.

That isolation has in some ways become "normal." What has become "normal" today has never been "normal" for successful societies.

The good news is, local Neighborhood Watch Groups  are taking us back in history
-- in a good way. This past Saturday two local NW groups had their first-of-the-season
Street BBQ's. And accomplished very important progress toward the old-fashioned way
of getting along. They got together for "a meal" and enjoyed each other's company.

Brandlwood subdivision (Lilburn) had over 100 neighbors turn out for food and friendship. Ashford Cove (Lilburn) enjoyed 40-plus neighbors spending time getting
to know each other over burgers, hot dogs and cupcakes.

Lilburn Police Chief Bruce Hedley did the cooking for both and additional Lilburn Police officers joined the neighbors in support of these successful events.

FYI... Organized Neighborhood Watch Groups are one of the most effective and
important anti-crime strategies in the country. If you would like to know more or start
