Get Out: Your Weekend Planner July 20-22

With the children going back to school soon, there are still a number of activities for them and you before the summer break is over.

When/Where: Friday, July 20, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., , at the bandstand behind Calvin Fitchett Municipal Complex, 76 Main Street

Why Go: This is the culmination of the ninth year of this community and entertainment event. It began with 59 contestants, and now there are about 20 vying for the title of Lilburn Idol. The group Norwood will perform, and there also will be food available for purchase.

When/Where: Saturday, July 21, 9 a.m., , 5373 Wydella Road Southwest

Why Go: This is the  sixth in a series of painting workshops hosted by local artists. The Lilburn Woman's Club is sponsoring. Funds go toward an art scholarship for a high school senior.

2. Cultural Community Performance

When/Where: Saturday, July 21, 2 p.m., , 405 Pleasant Hill Road

Why Go: Learn more about the North America Shirdi Sai Temple of Atlanta, Sai Darshan, teachings and practices of the group. The Saturday presentation will feature music, special effects and a professional production.
