1910 Public House Opening, National Night Out and More This Week in Lilburn

Check out the events happening around town from Aug. 5-9.

It's going to be a busy week in Lilburn. Here are the top five things to look forward to:

Co-owner Anthony Tiberia of 1910 Public House, the new restaurant in Old Town Lilburn, said he and his wife aims to open the eatery sometime this week. The restaurant was originally supposed to open June 1, but construction issues have caused delays. "It seems like every three steps forward gives us two steps back," said Tiberia in an email to Lilburn Patch. "The building is so old we are constantly finding issues that we didn't know about. "At the end of the day everything [is] getting fixed." Stay with Patch for updates on the exact opening date.

(Editor's Note: The opening for 1910 Public House has been moved again. The last thing Lilburn Patch heard was that they anticipate a Aug. 26th opening.)

National Night OutAmerica's night out against crime, is Tuesday, Aug. 6, and Lilburn is getting in on the fun. Swing by Lilburn City Park from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the free festival of K9 demos, kids activities, 55 exhibitors, Blue Bell ice cream and more. Click here for the full details.

I know Gwinnett kids are dreading Wednesday, Aug. 7: The First Day of School. Check out Patch's Back to School guide to make sure you're prepared for the upcoming school year.

On Friday, get updated on the local community improvement district by going to the Lilburn CID Monthly Meeting bright and early at 8:30 a.m. at Providence Christian Academy in the high school building. The board of directors will be discussing various topics regarding the area. And finally, end the week on a sweet and fun note with the Lilburn Farmers Market from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday. Lilburn Patch will have more details on what goodies to expect earlier that day.
