Lilburn Business Association and a Salon Auction: This Week in Lilburn

Check out what's happening in town from Aug. 19-25.

It's another week in Lilburn.

On Tuesday (Aug. 20), the Lilburn Business Association is hosting its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Killian Hall. Meet with other businesses in the area. Speaker Sam Underwood of eTouch Marketing is the special guest and will discuss what type of flyers, literature and promotional items might be effective for distribution at local events and every day promotions for businesses.

The city is having two government meetings this week. The Lilburn Downtown Development Authority is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 21) and the city Planning Commission is meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 22). Visit www.cityoflilburn.com/ for specific details.

On Friday (Aug. 23), head down to the Lilburn Farmers Market from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. across from Lilburn City Park for vendors and other special goodies. Check back with Patch that morning for specific details on the day's activities.

The American Heritage Girl Troop 100, a newly chartered group in Lilburn for the Christ-based scouting organization for girls, is hosting an ice cream social Sunday (Aug. 25) at 1 p.m. All prospective families are invited to come out, ask questions and meet the leaders. The event will be at the Harmony Grove United Methodist Church. 

Also on Sunday, Smiley's Hair Body & Mind Salon off Lawrenceville Hwy. is having a quarter auction, which is a mix between an auction, a bingo and a raffle. Attendees will have the opportunity to win natural hair and beauty items by placing a bid on items for one to four quarters, with each quarter valued at $10. Tickets are $10 and include admission, two bidding paddles, a sample swag bag and light refreshments. Click here for more details.
