Located in an annex building that was formerly a residence,  the office is responsible for 0verseeing development regulations and zoning ordinances aimed at promoting quality growth within the city limits. Residents and business owners can stop by the annex to attain permits and licenses. Doug Stacks (770-921-2784) is the department's director. City planner Alex Mitchem (770-638-2197) coordinates permits, city standards and inspections. Occupational tax certificates are issued by Victoria Dufresne (770-638-2225), and Greg Jacquet (770-638-2228) and Alayne Hightower (770-638-2229) handle code enforcement. The office has been in its current location since March 2009.
