Cookout for a Cause

Lilburnites turn out for good food and Fun-draising in support of this week's Lilburn Relay Rally

Former Mayor Diana Preston was on hand to greet the citizens and friends of Lilburn who came out in support of this year's annual "Cookout for a Cause' held Thursday to benefit the American Cancer Society Fun-draiser.   Her invitation to the cookout contained a personal message about her current journey dealing with the challenges of breast cancer. She spent some time thanking people for their cards and prayers and good wishes for a speedy recovery. After completing her chemotherapy she will start radiation treatments in May and is looking forward to working through that process and regaining her previous energy levels.  This year's cookout was held at the Gartrell Nash Pavilion and started around 11:30 a.m. Chief of Police Bruce Hedley …

Step Up For a Cure

It's that time of year again - sponsor or join a team for the 8th annual Lilburn Relay Rally

It’s time once again to step up and either sponsor or join a team for the 8th Annual Lilburn Relay Rally.  Leaders would like to double the contributions from  last year.  The GFWC Lilburn Woman’s Club (LWC) and the Lilburn Business Association (LBA), in collaboration with the City of Lilburn and many other community groups, have already committed to sponsor the Lilburn Relay Rally which will be held on April 27, 2012 in Lilburn City Park located at 76 Main Street behind City Hall from 5-10pm Concerned citizens of Lilburn and the surrounding area are working diligently to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.  Now it’s your turn to join in the fight against cancer.   The sponsorship deadline is fast approaching, so please don…
